Money and Advertising Photos
The deadline for advertising has passed on the 15th. The sheet and book are in production and no other ads will be accepted. Athletic resumes are still needed for all 16s and incomplete info is needed on 17s. Please get this information to Jeff Smith a.s.a.p. as this will be put together over the school holidays and any incomplete info will be left off.

Scheduling Conflict
Due to a scheduling conflict @ Texas State University on the date that we had reserved for our Centex clinics we will not be able to hold a clinic for either our scorekeeper or referee clinic this year. All Centex players need to find a clinic at another site, as it is very important that all members be certified. One clinic is in Pflugerville , Tx. on 12-5-04.

Media Guide and CenTex Yearbook Information
Tryouts have been held, but Centex is looking to field another 12 year old team. In addition, there are a couple of positions open on the 14’s team. Please contact the club president if you are interested.

Centex VBC Providing College Recruiting Seminar Feb 8th 3pm.
Tracy McWilliams of Texas State University will be conducting a College Recruiting Seminar for all Centex members. The seminar will last about an hour, and will begin at 3:00 PM on Sunday, February 8 at the University. The exact location of the seminar (what room or building) will depend upon the expected crowd.
Tracy McWilliams is a Texas State Assistant Volleyball Coach. She will cover many topics…from rules, marketing yourself, videos, unofficial and official visits, what to expect, what to do, and really just a collegiate insight.
While all Centex parents are invited, players under the age of 16 will probably not get much out of it. So we will arrange the practice schedule for that Sunday at TX ST to have the 16s, 17s, and 18s practice at 4:00, so those players can attend the seminar before their practice if they wish. There will be no charge to players and parents for attending the seminar.
Please let your Team Parent know how many from your family will attend.

18’s Coach Announced for 03-04 Season
Centex Volleyball is pleased to announce that Zachary Shaver, assistant volleyball coach at SWTSU, has agreed to coach the Centex 18’s team for the 2003-2004 season. Zach is an excellent addition. He will bring a wealth of collegiate and club experience. His knowledge if the game and mature presence should prove to be a great benefit to this athletically talented team. Ranked 2nd in the Lone Stare Region as 17’s and after going to nationals three years running, next season’s Centex 18’s should be both a fomrmidable and high profile team. Tryouts for this select team will be held August 2nd.

CenTex Stars 141 Win Northeast Qualifier
The Centex Stars 141 Volleyball Club team from New Braunfels won the Northeast Qualifier tournament held in Baltimore , MD on Easter weekend. As a result of winning the tournament, the Stars earned an automatic bid to the National Junior Olympics Volleyball Tournament in Atlanta, GA, June 25th – 28th. The Stars will compete for the national championship against 63 other club teams from the United States and Puerto Rico. Read more…

Centex Stars 171 Awarded National Junior Olympics Volleyball Bid
The Centex Stars Volleyball club team from New Braunfels finished in fourth place in the Lone Star Classic National Qualifier for club volleyball in Open Division and qualified for the USA Junior Olympic Girls Volleyball Championships in Atlanta on June 29th – July 2nd. USA Volleyball annually hosts four pools with the top twenty-eight (28) teams in the United States in Open, the highest, Division in club volleyball. The Centex Stars qualified in Club Division the past two years finishing 11th in 2001 and claiming the Bronze Medal in 2002 at the Junior Olympics in Salt Lake City, Utah. Click here for more…

CenTex Teams Finish Strong at River City Classic
The Centex Stars 171 team won the San Antonio River City Tournament Championship successfully defending the title they won last year as the Centex 161 team.

The Centex Stars 151 team finished second in the San Antonio River City Tournament Championship after a hard fought match with an outstanding Austin Junior Navy team.

Centex 141 finished fifth in the Gold Division of the San Antonio River City Classic Tournament.

The Centex 131 team did outstanding for their 1st tournament.
